Oh, Maureen Dowd, you are just so funny.

The New York Times Op-Ed columnist wrote an absolutely hilarious piece on the nomination of Alaskan governor, Sarah Palin, as vice president alongside Republican presidential candidate, John McCain, for the Sunday paper.

It likens Palin's life and subsequent appointment as VP of the US-of-A to the plot of a generically vacuous chick flick (in Dowd's own words).

Her fans are apparently called "Palinistas", which I can only assume is the political variation of "fashionistas".
