NY Fashion Week, Day One

Fashionistas, rejoice!

New York Fashion Week -- Fall '08 RTW collections, to be exact -- is off to a breakneck pace, with Diane von Furstenberg, Rag & Bone, Herve Leger, Alexander Wang, Jovovivh-Hawk, Jonathan Saunders, Sass & Bide, Threeasfour, Miss Sixty, Thakoon, Rock & Republic, Peter Som, Oscar de la Renta, Erin Fetherston, Elise Overland, Duckie Brown, Lacoste, Preen and the like having already stomped the runways.

It's always a harrowing task narrowing down my favorite runway outfits, but here's a snapshot of what I have, thus far, drooled over today.

I'm Lovin' it: Leigh Lezark's hair. Lezark rocks the stick-straight angled hair better than anyone else, always looking coolly beautiful -- and slightly evil -- with her pale skin and fierce eyes. She's played some pretty dope music at Don Hill's in her short 23 years, too.

I'm Over it: Photoshop. For some reason, it decided not to work for me on Friday and today, meaning, I haven been unable to do any Hollywood Life posts. Argh!

Album of the Day: Jay Dee Donuts by J Dilla, nee James Yancey. Jenks had this CD playing in the office, so I naturally usurped it. Now playing on constant repeat in my car, each track is no more than two minutes, if that. Check out track #16, titled "One Eleven", with its mad wicked strings background and soulful vocals. This album, sadly, was the revered producer's last. He passed away early last year from lupus just three days after its release, leaving the hip hop world in tears. Dilla's tracks and beats will keep us vibin' for years to come. Rest in peace, J.
