Happy Happy 2009!

Happy, happy New Year, dearest readers. It's 2009!

The thought of 2008 flying by the way it did is a lot scary, I'm not going to lie.

Yet with each year that passes comes a little more experience, wisdom and memories than the year before, which only means life just keeps on getting better.

Love and happiness abound around the holiday season, which is the time people really take stock of their lives, I think. Many around the world are nervous for what the new year will bring, especially with the economic downturn, but Chanel and Fendi designer, Karl Lagerfeld, said something I couldn't agree more with during a BBC interview the other day:

Said the Kaiser about the recession and state of the world, "I see it like a cleaning up — it was too rotten anyway — so it had to be cleaned up … I see it like a healthy thing — horrible but healthy, like some miracle treatment of the world."

The world's getting a master cleanse, and you know what? We'll be all the much better for it.

It's a return to simplicity and the things that truly make us happy.

On that note, I'm starting '09 with a smile and good time memories of '08.

May you all have an abundance of love, happiness and laughs this year!

Oh, and maybe I'd also like to start 2009 with this vintage 1980s Thierry Mugler plaid shirt for me...

I'm Lovin' it: How adorable are these Mimobot USB flash drive sticks! I'm down with the Mimoco Pirate Nero -- it's designed by tokidoki, too. And at least when I'm transferring music from laptop to laptop, my tunes will make the trip in kawaii (translation: cute) style.

I'm Over it: Phone troubles.

Track of the Day: "Morris Day" by Mur and Slug (yep, latter being of Atmosphere), off the Felt 2: A Tribute To Lisa Bonet album. Heard it off Khaleel's iPod. Loved it instantaneously.
