I have a fashion-girl crush on Carine Roitfeld -- French VOGUE editrix, super stylist, Tom Ford-confidante (her daughter Julia Restoin-Roitfeld is the face of Ford's Black Orchid fragrance) and all-around glamourous Parisian woman-slash-style-icon.

She didn't disappoint one bit in this sparkly dress on the red carpet of the recent Cannes Film Festival. Adore the red strappies and nude obi belt. Sparkly dress over a sparkly press wall! How matchy-matchy of her.

Plus, she looks absolutely ravishing for a lady over forty. I wonder what she's going to be donning at tonight's CFDA Fashion Fund awards...

Carine certainly has that je ne sais quoi, non?






I'm Lovin' it: Living downtown! I was able to walk to the Paramount movie theatre at Burrard anbd Smithe without having to worry about paying nearly $10 for parking, hooray!! And go see Knocked Up -- laugh out loud funny, thanks to Katherine Heigl, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann and a quartet of funny dudes playing Rogen's stoner pals. Come to think of it, me, Mikey and Big Brother K were probably the loudest bunch in the second row of a sold-out house.

And having my dad come visit from Orange County was "I'm Lovin' it"-worthy, too.
