My Solemn Oath

Jewelry is a girl's best friend.

Or is that diamonds??

Either or, it certainly is my BFF when it comes to completing any outfit.

Some women prefer to have one or two pieces on, while others like to load up on bangles, necklaces, rings and earrings -- much like myself (oh yeah, that includes my toe ring, too). No, it doesn't all have to be real -- mine certainly isn't -- but it should to look like it is.

Whether is came from Forever 21 or from that great little store (not Blue Ruby) on Robson Street near Godiva Chocolate, if you flaunt it like it's real, it will be in the eyes of others. Unless someone stops to ask you.

This brings me to Oath NYC, a tongue-in-cheek jewelry line perfect for the urban woman in you. These necklaces and earrings certainly are pretty and sparkly, but the charms dangling from them are a nod to nitty, gritty city life.

From can tabs to cavity teeth to matchsticks to bobby pins to chill pills, if you have Oath NYC on, then you're a true big city girl at heart.

I'm Lovin' it: Kaskade this Thursday. Last Saturday, my pal Oli commented that all the girls in town come out of the woodworks when this DJ rolls into the city and didn't really understand why. Not that he was complaining, I'm sure, but here's the reason: Kaskade is H-O-T.

I'm Over it: Not being able to trust the weather channels here. It seems like local Vancouver stations like to cover all bases when predicting the climate. That means saying tomorrow's going be be sunny, raining and overcast with a possible snowstorm when really it's just going to be sunny.

Artist of the Day: Feist, a jazzy Canadian crooner with a very pretty voice -- and also an integral part of big band Broken Social Scene. Born Leslie Feist, she performs solo with only her last name. After a move to Paris, she then released her first solo album to many accolades and has recently recorded with the red-hot Peaches -- who happens to be her old roommate. Check out the remix of "One Evening". Feist is currently still Parisian, which probably means eating baguettes, drinking red wine between recording sessions while smoking a cigarette for dessert, a la Catherine Deneuve.
