Wood You Please?
Working with cut & SHOW for the past two years has been superb for staying on top of things fashion-related because it allows me to hear firsthand about under-the-radar brands.
One such example is GoodWood, an accessories brand out of New York, founded by Kerri O'Connell.
All the pieces are made of -- you guessed it! -- wood, but the artistry is pretty phenomenal, as in smooth and clean. There are two and three-finger rings, pendants (I like the Nike kicks and Biggie ones), earrings (if you're an old school, '60s Batman-circa-Adam-West fan, check out the Whaaam!! pair), dog tags and pins.
Wood really is good.
I'm Lovin' it: Scoring media passes to this weekend's Virgin Fest. Hello, Ben Harper, Metric, Sonic Youth, K-OS and De La Soul!
I'm Over it: I ate two big pieces of cheesecake within one hour last night. So good, yet so bad. Gym time.
Track of the Day: Early motown rules (well, all of it, really). So does "Up on the Roof" by The Drifters. Thanks, Starbucks stereo, for reminding me how feel-good this track is.
