RIP Dash Snow.

I remember where I first came across the name Dash Snow.

His memorable moniker peppered a 2007 New York Magazine article penned about the young New York artist (and his best pals Dan Colen and photographer Ryan McGinley), who turned away from his family's immense pile of wealth to lead a downtown LES artist's lifestyle.

Known for his wild antics (he used his own semen on his work), rebellious nature (he was of the De Menil family), evocative work (which found fans in Saatchi & Saatchi and the Whitney) and penchant for substances, it was the latter that finally took his last breath at the age of 27.

Once again, a talent taken much too soon.

Rest in peace, Dash Snow.
