Live From Paris, It's Chanel

So I kid.

It's not really live, but it is a nice little minute-and-a-half snippet -- or visual cross-section, if you will -- of the Chanel couture show that went on in Paris.

The city of couture is melting under a massive heat wave at the moment, so it's a marvel the models stayed so calm, collected and standing up after wearing a Fall '09 collection. That human hanger in the big, white confection near the end must've been dying of heatstroke.

Karl Lagerfeld, of course, didn't disappoint with his runway set. Last time, it was a giant replica of a Chanel boucle jacket and this time, it is a cluster of organ-like pipes.

Also, he cleverly did his runway bow-slash-walk with a bodyguard in tow wearing the yellow safety jacket from the ads Lagerfeld's been starring in for Paris' department of transportation and road safety.

And like a good fashionisto, he wore black to make sure it all matches. Wait, he always wears black...

PS. Doesn't Karl look so adorable in the snapshot below?? Yes, kids, he's actually SMILING. Nice chops.
