Narciso Makes Good

I'm not usually a fan of Narciso Rodriguez.

His clothes are a bit too simple in silhouette and geometrically-blocked for me.

However, I did spot two looks out of his Fall 2007 collection that grew on me.

* This cream jacket looks like a shorter, less-adorned and less-embroidered version of the Chulo Pony coat I almost snagged at Zebra Club on South Granville a few weeks ago. Figured I didn't need another coat in Los Angeles. Considering how chilly it is in my new habitat that is Vancouver, I suppose it would have been a good -- and fabulous -- buy at $135. And to be honest, Chulo Pony's version outdoes Narciso's.

* I think the versatility of this sweater/coat/dress is what takes my breath away. I love the high-neck and voluminous sleeves, too -- there's something very feminine about the overall silhouette, despite the presence of ruffles and frills. The silver zipper is great for giving the all-black ensemble a bit of flash.
